PayLane Card Data Storage

What’s this?

Card Data Storage is a service from PayLane that allows merchants to use their customers’ card data. However, the merchant doesn’t have to be responsible for storing the information − we do. And of course, PayLane enables merchants to access and receive their customers’ data.

What does it mean?

Card Data Storage allows merchants to use additional services that make the payment process easier for a customer. And making paying more convenient doesn’t just improve one purchasing experience. If it’s professional and really easy, it’s much more likely a customer will buy from you in the future.

Furthermore, Card Data Storage allows a merchant to offer the customer a card or account he already used to make a purchase. This way, clients don’t have to enter all that data every time they visit your website.

Also, Card Data Storage makes it possible to use recurring payments. And all this comes without the headaches involved with storing sensitive data and being responsible for it.

Example

If a customer already purchased something from a merchant and used a certain credit card, the data entered on the merchant’s website will be stored securely in the PayLane Card Data Storage system. The next time he wants to buy something, he’ll be able to either enter new card data or choose the card he already used. And when customers can make a purchase in just a few clicks, they’re more likely to come back.

What’s more, taking care of all the security issues is handled completely by PayLane. A merchant doesn’t have to meet any security requirements, pass any audits, etc. That’s because the merchant doesn’t actually store the client data. If he needs any information, he can request it from our Card Data Storage system. There’s also no risk that someone may see the card data on a monitor screen. Any necessary data is shown only to the customer – but just enough to let him identify his card.
